I am Anamaria Avram, and I am originally from Romania. For the past two years I lived in London, but recently I have moved to Brabrand, Denmark. My move was motivated by two things. Firstly, I wanted to be closer to the one I love, and secondly, I wanted to continue my education here.
Despite of all the negative comments and roomers, I have chosen to settle in Gellerup just to live in the same neighbourhood with my boyfriend. However, day by day and little by little, I have discovered that this area has its own charm and beauty. People are friendly and kind, children are bursting with energy on the playground and I get a warm ‘hello’ almost every time I get out of my block. People’s friendliness makes me feel welcome and accepted, although I am ‘a new kid on the block’. What I love most about Gellerup is its diversity, which gives me flashbacks of London’s multiculturalism.
Therefore I love Gellerup festival has raised my interest, because it promotes the bright side of this neighbourhood. Definitely I am going to be there on 28th of May together with my friends to enjoy music, to have great fun and taste the diversity.
